Barton Moss 23/12/2013: 4 arrested “to fulfill a quota”
Update from Tim Williams at Barton Moss Protection Camp:
Howling gales driving rain at Barton Moss but we now have the Disco Dome fitted with sound system so we continue to stand here against the Fracking madness. Yesterday I experienced for the first time the feeling of real Oppression it was kind of scary.4 people arrested as we walked peacefully with mums children etc. There was a quota to fulfill so they randomly arrested people.Normally we walk with space between the police and Protectors but they just steamed in and pushed. In their minds we are not Protectors honouring a great British right but criminals to be treated as dogs. However we have some very committed and strong souls here from all quarters and our spirit gets stronger with every injustice. I send love to all my friends and family wishing you all you wish yourself and then some!! XXX

Police pull an innocent protester out of line for “obstructing the highway”. They claim that the obstruction is her pushing back, but this video clearly shows that the police are pushing the protesters along the public footpath and not allowing them to walk at their own pace. The woman who is filmed walking along at quite a fast pace as she is being pushed by members of Greater Manchester Police drafted in to protect IGAS’s operations aimed at Fracking the most densely populated area ever attempted for this highly dangerous and controversial process.
Another video of the event. This one shows three women being arrested to fulfill a quota.
