Nicky starts the day off doing the right thing for the right reasons . She got away for a while but was arrested shortly after this photo was taken. Since then one of the other younger women have also been taken. seems the police are extra picky this morning. Anyone found to be obstructing the highway, anyone seen to be verbally abusing the workers are likely to be nicked. Hope Nicky isn’t away long, I have really grown to like and respect this lady’s tenacity.

Why Nikki handcuffed herself to the gate of Cuadrilla’s Balcombe site this morning:

“I study environmental science, I know this is wrong, I know this is mad and it’s just about money. I’ve chosen this action because nobody is listening. I’ve signed petitions, I’ve written to the EA. I’ve been here peacefully protesting for the last 6 weeks or longer. The government’s just not listening to its people. Once they start putting those chemicals down into the water table they cannot get them out. I don’t want to leave this mess for the next generation and I certainly don’t want to say I didn’t do anything to stop it.”

From 24th August 2013. Sky being interviewed by Truthferretfilms.

Young Activist Skye, being snatched by Police. 4 Arrests have been made today. 1325hours.

From one eyewitness: “The approach was mental, suddenly there were loads of old bill racing through the children’s area jumping over/on things, through the kids’ tent, a Legal Observer was thrown and another pretty much picked up and dumped unceremoniously on the floor, the vid shows from when she was taken, but the lead up to it was totally nuts. They’ll be all Tea ‘n Biscuits straight after and I’m fed up with folk facilitating their idea that they are just doing their job, need a whole day of fuck off and not talking to them AT ALL.”

Livestream of police escorting lorry to site. Costs to the taxpayer reaching £3 Million.
