If you’re coming down tonight for Russell Brand and ‘Sleepover at Sweets Way’, Welcome! Thank you so much for the support in our fight to keep our homes and our community intact!
A couple of points:
1) The Sweets Way social centre (60 Sweets Way) is a two bedroom house and the limited space here needs to be for residents and recently-moved residents of Sweets Way to stay-over. It is small and not equipped for all of Russell’s fans to come and cuddle up in. We hope you can appreciate that.
2) You’re welcome to camp-out around the social centre on the Sweets Way green spaces (green spaces that will be mostly obliterated if Annington’s development plans go ahead), but know that it will be bloody cold out and that we can’t open our doors to people who haven’t come prepared for that. Sorry!
Russell will be buzzing around, inside and outside, and there will be food and fireworks and fun, but the house will need to stay closed, unfortunately. If you’d like to support us and have a look around, we will be open again tomorrow and other afternoons and evenings, if you’d like to drop in for a cuppa
