Stop TTIP – CETA – TISA
The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) is the largest free trade agreement ever negotiated. Also known as the US-EU Free Trade Agreement and TAFTA, it was negotiated in secret until October 9th. Pressure from campaigners has led to a little more information entering the public sphere, but this is nowhere near enough!
In November 2014, campaigner Linda Kaucher said :
The Commission’s mandate was made public about a month ago.
That was a document from over a year ago, it was just the go ahead doc for the Commission to start negotiating, and it was leaked a year ago anyway.
The texts of the ongoing negotiations are secret and the plan is that they will remain secret until negotiations are completed.
In addition, any other documentation (e.g. lobbying docs) is secret and will remain so for 30 years.

WHAT IS TTIP?
Approval of the Canada-EU Trade Agreement (CETA) by the European Parliament is as far from certain as we allow it to be. Click on above link to participate in the collective voice against it.
WHAT IS CETA?
ISDS
The ISDS is a provision, set to be in TTIP, that will allow corporations to sue national governments if the governments pass laws or policies that would detrimentally affect the corporations’ future making profits.
The fear of being sued for billions of dollars will effectively dis-empower our governments rendering them impotent to protect our rights, food and safety standards and our environment, in the outside chance that they actually wanted to!
There are dozens of free trade agreements that have the ISDS clause in them. The Energy Charter Treaty that Russia is signatory to, is no different.
In an historic arbitral award rendered on July 18, 2014, an Arbitral Tribunal sitting in The Hague under the auspices of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) held unanimously that the Russian Federation breached its international obligations under the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT) by destroying Yukos Oil Company and appropriating its assets. The Tribunal ordered the Russian Federation to pay damages in excess of USD 50 billion to our clients who were the majority shareholders of Yukos Oil Company.
WHAT IS ISDS?
It may be fair to suggest that all the campaigns throughout modern history that have failed, have done so due to a lack of active participants. Believe that this world can be a better place and actively participate in the change you want to see…pleeeeeeeeze.
Our main stream media particularly and perhaps most disappointingly, the BBC does not keep us informed.
