      • At the end of your Impossible to Imagine post you said ”What’s next? We’ll see” What is possible for you to imagine? I am not asking what are you willing to allow yourself to imagine? I am interested in what the dream would be. What is in that different society you spoke of? If you have the time I would truly appreciate your comments Billy

    • Hi Mark. truly appreciated Your Perspective and the feelings you expressed. It seems that what is getting lost in the intellectualised and political discussion in and around Occupy presently is the feeling that was generated by the camps. I believe it was an organically occurring port hole into a better world. It was raw. We camped together…we were together…regardless of why…that was enough.

      • Hey Billy thanks for your thoughts. I agree about that human element that can’t be merely described.

TO answer you question about the nature of a new society, well. I’m sure you can imagine how my thoughts on this change every day. But I suppose, for me, just talking about a new and better society is part of forming the belief that such a thing is possible. I also don’t trust refined and detailed blueprints. I just don’t think we know enough about people and society. But we can think about basic principles that can guide how we might shape institutions and systems.
I suppose one has to take into account the shperes of politics, economy, culture and so forth. So in politics we can imagine democracy in communities, workplaces, families, not a choice between one ruling elite and another. In economics we could imagine worker own enterprises with internal democratic arrangements based on cooperation. Production could supply demand by empowering communities to express what they really desire, not what there being told to want by corporations. In culture we can imagine values moving from status, wealth, popularity etc to solidarity, creativity, learning etc. We can go on but I think seeing what happened in the camps it’s clear that the way to go is to theorise where it’s useful dn helpful but beyond that its about trying things out and seeing what works and what does not.

        • Mark, Just saw the welcome tent with you as a group member. How do I message a group? I am interested in being in touch with any web developers to create a forum for Unconditional giving and receiving…how do you think I should go about it? Thanks

I am also having some issue sending messages to members. For you it only seems to work if I reply to a previous message. If I just compose a message I don’t seem to be able to enter the username or Friends name….please advise
