Lorry surfing, Richard’s story in his own words
Lorry surfing, in a surfer’s own words.
I’m free! I have my phone back and I’m heading down to London this weekend. Lancs police gave me a nice hot shower, tea, cottage pie, smiles, a warm place to sleep for a while and asked me to rate my stay on TripAdvisor 🙂 oh and these cosy pyjamas 🙂 I was not charged but bailed ‘pending further investigation’.
We stopped Cuadrilla from fracking for another week by sitting on their heavy drill supports… until two of the haulage companies carrying the fracking equipment stated that they will immediately stop working for the fracking industry!
And the bronze commander from Lancashire Constabulary promised on camera that these trucks would not be allowed into the fracking site, but would be sent away!
AND the commander of the Welsh police force stated publically that they would no longer be sending assistance to help defend this dirty and destructive fracking indistry which is illegal in Wales!
An amazing victory rounding off an epic month of action from Blackpool locals, Frack Free Lancashire, the legendary anti-fracking Nanas, Reclaim the Power and other anti-fracking groups who have caused misery for Cuadrilla for many months now.
Massive respect to the hundreds of local, national, and international volunteers who have made us a force to be reckoned with -working together as a team in logistics, media, legal obervers/advisors, kitchen crew, site volunteers, medics, and everyone providing food and smiles and emotional support.
Together we properly rocked their boat, the proposed first fracking site in the UK is still reporting huge losses and becomes more of a headache and a less attractive investment with every passing month of mischeif 😛
Until we win! Big big love x
