Hundreds turn out to celebrate Occupy London’s first birthday
As Occupy London prepares for its first anniversary on Monday, an estimated 400 supporters are now gathered outside St Paul’s Cathedral, for #GlobalNoise – a global day of protest to highlight the fact that people are still here, one year on, united and more determined than ever.
Speakers from the Quebec student movement and activists from Greece and Spain have already addressed the crowd, as has Samar Barakat from the occupied and reopened Friern Barnet library. After hearing from Nick Dearden from Jubilee Debt Campaign, the event will move on to a secret location.
