Couple of comments: Could we have 'contact us' as a title in the top line menu? That's where I'd look for it and be frustrated to not find it.

Perhaps 'contact us' could also be one of the grey buttons instead of all the various contacts being on the front page?

A few comments:
- I have got rid of some of the "white" above the news so it is closer to the top.
- I still haven't worked out the issues with twitter
- I have made the part of text visible a bit longer so that you can read more before clicking on it.
- a general comment on the menus. The layout is based on the fact that pages other then the home page are made as accessible as possible. Mainly to reach a page there are two ways: 1. by clicking on a button, image or link on the page. 2. By accessing it through the menu. In other words, you could think of the top menu as a summary in words of what you see as images on the homepage.
I would like to start implementing the three column layout soon, so if there are no objections I will change the official website to this layout in the next days. Obviously it will be always work in progress and we can continue to improve it after that.

But perhaps if you explain the thinking behind it I might 'get it'? :)

Reasons for not liking it on first-look:
*dark buttons in centre look ugly & more or less but not quite repeat the headings/menus at the top - which is unnecessary & confusing.
*Hardly any actual content is visible until you scroll down - I'd rather a decent chunk of news hit me in the face straight away.
*I'm not really sure why login exists - but anyway, I wouldn't put it so big & central (maybe the top photo could be made a bit shorter and the login be small next to it?
*Latest Tweets on existing site doesn't seem to work - will it on future one? Would be good if so, but could be smaller and off to one side, allowing news to move up.

Keen to hear other viewpoints though,

I'd like us to think about changing the headings/dropdown menus in the top line.

When I put the cursor over 'About' I see a list of statements and think I have to click on one - how many people ever realise there's a little blurb explaining who and what we are hidden in there too? So, I'd like to separate 'About' & 'Statements'.

I also think the menus are generally clumsy - someone with more web-building experience probably understands how to improve this better than I.

Under 'GA' the 'proposals register' page isn't working. Also unclear whether this should be proposals pending or proposals passed. In the blurb about assemblies, it suggests following the GA twitter announcements - do these still happen? If not that should come off.

Under 'People' the 'Directory' & 'Activity' dropdowns seem a bit pointless. As does 'Forums' because there isn't one.

'An Occupiers' Perspective' is ok and we seem to be putting them on the front page now - which I think is very GOOD as it keeps the front page busy and buzzy and diverse... and means people are more likely to contribute. But this seems to overlap with 'Blog' which is in the groups section - perhaps we could combine the two and call it 'An Occupiers' Blog' or something?
