Transnational Corporate Human Rights Abuses: Delivering Access To Justice

The Law Society, 113 Chancery Lane, London WC2A 1PL

Thursday 17 July 2014, 2-6pm

Victims of human rights abuse by business, wherever it occurs, require full and effective access to judicial remedies. Three years on from the adoption of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, there is more work to be done. CORE Coalition and Business & Human Rights Resource Centre, in association with the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL), cordially invite you to an afternoon conference to discuss recommendations for actions that should be taken to address the issue.

Speakers include: Prof. ROBERT McCORQUODALE, Director, BIICL, Dr. HELEN KIJO-BISIMBA, Executive Director, Legal & Human Rights Centre, Tanzania, PAUL HOFFMAN, Lead Counsel for the Plaintiffs, Kiobel v Shell and MARTYN DAY, Senior Partner, Leigh Day.

The conference will be followed by a reception from 6-8pm. To register or for further information please email Sam Whannel at: whannel@business-humanrights.org
