Stop Killing Londoners: Cut Air Pollution Protest No. 3
Date(s) - 01/08/2017
6:00 pm - 6:15 pm
10 minute Road Blocks and Disco.
On Wednesday August 2nd at 6pm, Stop Killing Londoners Campaigners will sit down across a major central London road for the third time to demand urgent action on pollution. Say you’re “going” and we will message you details.
Meeting point is between Baker Street and Regent’s Park.
Our disco (SKA THEME!) road blockade will last 10 minutes. Dress up if you want! Afterwards we will go to Regents Park and have a picnic to celebrate and sort out the next show.
London is one of the most polluted places in the UK. 10, 000 Londoners die prematurely each year. Our last mayor Boris Johnson suppressed reports on the severity of the problem. Nobody appears to comprehend the health threat we face. The scale of the problem is daunting but if communities co-ordinate we can win big.
The road block disco is part of an escalating campaign to mobilise ordinary London communities to take matters into their own hands. We want people to adopt and adapt peaceful and creative direct action tactics to carry on the fight. We are aiming at London-wide actions involving ordinary people and small communities acting in together to get the authorities to stop messing about and act on air pollution.
After the action we will go and have a picnic in Regents Park – please bring food to share!
Note the date of this action was originally on the 2nd August but now is on the 1st – Tuesday.
A Rising Up Campaign – please share.
