Southwark Council is due to meet on Wednesday 27 February to set the budget for 2013/4.

Even though the council is feeling the pressure from local trade unions and campaigners, and is offsetting some cuts by using reserves, more jobs in the council will be lost.

And residents on low incomes and community groups are facing devastation through funding cuts and benefit cuts.

Together with the Trades Council, we are organising a protest outside Tooley Street Town Hall the night of the budget. We are calling on the Council not to impose the bedroom tax and cuts to benefits. Also that they refuse to evict residents who fall in arrears because of these cuts.

We urgently need facts and figures from advice and community groups about the impact of cuts on people in Southwark.
• Please can you send as a matter of urgency all the info you have on this. Email
• Will you bring a delegation to the protest?
• Will your organisation provide a speaker to speak at the protest?
