Shut The Gate – Mr Mayor ! Potential Protest & Die-IN
Hosted by Stop Killing Cyclists

The Organising Group of Stop Killing Cyclists have decided that the ful implementation of Cycle Highway 11, including the closure of the gates into Regent’s Park, are a red line in the sand for us, for the implementation of the Mayor of London’s radical Transport Vision for a safer cycling world city.

The Mayor must face down the loud small minority of drivers, who want to retain the right to rat-run through the park.

Stop Killing Cyclists believe it is a human right for parents to be able to take their children to play in our parks, without their lungs and hearts being damaged for life by car/cab pollution.

It is totally unacceptable for so many of London’s parks to be breaking EU pollution safety limits

The new cycle highway if implemented properly, will bring modern protected European standard protected cycleways to more than a million Londoners.

Currently the rat-run is used by 5,000 vehicles/day but one lane of road can carry up to 12,000 people cycling per hour.

Cycle Highway 11 is essential to protect our kids lungs, to enabling tens of thousands of Londoners to cycle to work safely and will be a boost to London’s economy.

Our hope is that the Mayor will live up to the promises he made to Stop Killing Cyclists prior to his election and to his own recently launched Transport Strategy and so this “POTENTIAL” protest will never have to be staged.

We do not know the exact date when the Mayor will release his decision on the details of Cycle Highway 11, but the consultation closed over 16 months ago, and it is now urgently overdue for decision. Hence, we have not named the exact date for this potential protest – but will alert signees as soon as we know.

Yes You Can, Mayor Khan !!
