Occupy Tour of Canary Wharf
Date(s) - 23/01/2013
6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
“I personally would go mad if I had to work in a place like that”. So said Prince Charles when Canary Wharf was first constructed in the 1980s. Today this private business estate – built on the ruins of London’s Docklands – is home to some of the world’s biggest investment banks, and more financial workers than the City itself.
Join us for a short walk around the shining glass towers of Canary Wharf as we tell the story of the financial crisis – from the former headquarters of Lehman Brothers, to the ratings agencies, accountancy firms, investment banks and regulators who got us into this mess…
Tours start outside Canary Wharf underground (on ‘Banker’s Plaza’ where all the clocks are) and last 90 mins. See www.occupytours.org for more information, or contact email@example.com.
