Fascists kill in Greece! Antifascist demo in London on Saturday 21 September 2013 at 13:00 Greek Embassy, London
Date(s) - 21/09/2013
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Around midnight on 17 September in the popular working-class district of Amfiali in the area of Piraeus, Pavlos Fissas, a 34 year old man, was ambushed by a gang of neo-nazi Golden Dawn members and was brutally stabbed to death.
Pavlos was a well-known figure in the local community. A hip-hop artist known by his stage name ‘Killah P’ he had been involved in the anti-fascist scene, organising anti-racist concerts and other social activities in the area where he lived.
This murder is not an isolated event; it comes after the recent attack by Golden Dawn thugs on communist activists who were putting up posters to publicise the recent education workers strike, in Perama, another working-class suburb of Piraeus. Fascist violence has escalated against the backdrop of rising social struggles and popular mobilisations.
The time to fight back has come for the entire Left and antifascist forces.
Syriza London – together with antifascist activists and organisations in London – call upon all to attend a peaceful demonstration outside the Greek Embassy in London to condemn the actions of Golden Dawn at 13:00 this Saturday 21 September 2013.
The Greek Embassy is located 1a Holland Park, London W11 3TP.
