Anniversary of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement

Hosted by Kurdistan Students Union – UK and Kurdish Society – SOAS

On the 27th of November, the Kurdistan Freedom Movement enters its 40th year of struggle. 39 years ago, this movement promised to struggle for the freedom of the Kurdish people and all peoples of the middle east at any cost and sacrifice. In the 21st century this promise was carried to an international promise to fight against the systems that have oppressed and enslaved us.

Entering the 40th year of struggle, the Kurdistan Freedom Movement has renewed its promise to fight against capitalism, racism, imperialism and patriarchy; to build a democratic, ecological and gender-equal society pioneered by the Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Ocalan. The ideas and thoughts of Abdullah Ocalan, is the inspiration behind the historic resistances and victories against ISIS.

The 40th year of this struggle must be the year Abdullah Ocalan, abducted and held since 1999, is freed from his prison-cell on the Imrali island in Turkey.

All Kurdish youth, friends & family are invited to celebrate this historic occasion.

All funds raised will go towards the victims of the earthquake which struck nearby Halabja and Kermanshah.
