So anyone in the Church of England who is baptized makes a baptismal covenant with the Church and the last question that they ask you is this:

Will you strive for justice and peace among all
people, and respect the dignity of every human
being?

And if you are in the Church of England, you answered: I will, with God’s help.

What’s an ex-military man doing wrapped up in the church ? ever took a stroll through St Paul’s ? . its covered in old British military campaign flags & regalia……..it’s less of a church & more a memorial to WAR !!!!

Cottam was commissioned into the Royal Green Jackets in 1973. He was Commanding Officer of his Regiment and was deployed in Northern Ireland in the early 1990s. In 1994 he went to South Africa as part of a Commonwealth Peace Keeping Force. In retirement he became Registrar of St Paul’s Cathedral.

He has certainly had huge experiences in brutal suppression. What is he doing in St Paul’s?
