International Demonstration – People United Against Austerity!

Europe is under a violent attack by the financial capital, represented by the troika (IMF, ECB, EC) and by the successive governments that apply concerted policies with these entities, despising and destroying the people. We know that this offensive is set on breaking the peoples, rendering them slaves of debt and austerity. This offensive crosses Europe and it must be defeated by an international struggle.
Each one of us, in each country, in each[...]

They Owe Us! – Shift the debt

In June the UK hosts the G8 summit – a meeting of the 1% to ensure more business as usual.
On June 14th, there will be a mass action in Canary Wharf, the icon of profits for the few and disaster for the many.
We will transform a space, bringing beauty to the soulless heart of the crisis.
Join us to resist, create and imagine…

GlobalSkillsXChange __CALL FOR WORKSHOPS AND PARTICIPANTS __8-9 June, London

From the uprising in northern Africa to the assemblies in Spain, followed by the spreading of Occupy, new social movements have sprung up all over the world. Our structures, ways of organising and tactics are still in their embryonic form: working through experimentations and learning from the inevitable difficulties. To progress and strengthen these processes, it is important that we come together to reflect on them and build visions.

Therefore, we invite you to participate[...]

  • Blockupy 2013 in Frankfurt, May 30th to June 1st 2013

Blockupy 2013 in Frankfurt, May 30th to June 1st 2013

Blockupy is back: In May 2012, activists gathered in the banking area of Frankfurt to protest against the austerity politics of the German government and the Troika (EU, ECB, IMF). From May 30th to June 1st 2013 we will return for European action days in the heart of the European authoritarian crisis regime in Frankfurt/Main.

At the headquarters of the European Central Bank (ECB), we will send a powerful signal of solidarity with all those[...]

DEFEND LONDON’S NHS DEMONSTRATION 18 MAY

This demonstration has been called by an unprecedented coalition of London residents, medical staff, trade unions and health campaigners who have come together to raise the alarm regarding the biggest threats to A & E’s, maternity units and in-hospital care for a generation.
Closures planned across the capital include nine accident and emergency departments, a number of maternity units and thousands of hospital beds that campaigners believe will put lives at risk.
    Hospitals and community[...]

  • Can squatters, private renters and council tenants unite?

Can squatters, private renters and council tenants unite?

The first time I heard a friend talking about squatters standing shoulder to shoulder with council tenants and private renters, I was doubtful to say the least. Ok, possibly the squatting community could share it’s experience with resisting evictions, of which it has plenty, but what did the groups really have in common at heart?
It was with this question I headed down to the OpenHouse2013 project which in it’s blurb states
    “Whether you’re a[...]

  • LIBOR rigging bankers defrauded local councils’ funds

LIBOR rigging bankers defrauded local councils’ funds

Treasury reports reveal how local authorities lost hundreds of millions – if not billions –as a consequence of the LIBOR rate rigging scandal.
British councils face 34% cuts to vital services that can be attributed to reductions in government funding. Austerity cuts are interlinked to Britain’s support for the banker’s through the bailout. Additionally, LIBOR rate rigging reduced the councils’ investments. The common tendency within the scandal was to “low-ball” or drop interest rates,[...]

    NHS, Democracy and People Power

Dr Louise Irvine chair’s the Save Lewisham Hospital campaign which has seen a massive mobilisation of local people; 25,000 people marched to prevent the closure of the A & E. The campaign is planning a People’s Commissions of Enquiry, chaired by barrister Michael Mansfield QC , who will hear the evidence that the Trust Special Administrator would not consider. • Event in Solidarity with the No Dash for Gas Activists

EDF is one of the Big 6 energy providers who are trashing the planet and ripping us off.
We became inspired to hold this event following the corporate bullying by EDF of the peaceful No Dash For Gas activists, who shut down a gas fired plant belonging to EDF last year. EDF tried to sue[...]
